New Cyclic Difference Sets with Singer Parameters Constructed from d-Homogeneous Functions

In this paper, for a prime power q, new cyclic difference sets with Singer para- meters ((q ⁿ –1/q–1), (q ^n–1–1/q–1), (q ^n–2–1/q–1)) are constructed by using q-ary sequences (d-homogeneous functions) of period q ⁿ –1 and the generalization of GMW difference sets is proposed by combining the generation methods of d-form sequences and extended sequences. When q is a power of 3, new cyclic difference sets with Singer parameters ((q ⁿ –1/q–1), (q ^n–1–1/q–1), (q ^n–2–1/q–1)) are constructed from the ternary sequences of period q ⁿ –1 with ideal autocorrelation introduced by Helleseth, Kumar, and Martinsen.

Cauchy, Ferrers-Jackson and Chebyshev polynomials and identities for the powers of elements of some conjugate recurrence sequences

In this paper some decompositions of Cauchy polynomials, Ferrers-Jackson polynomials and polynomials of the form x ²ⁿ + y ²ⁿ , n ∈ ℕ, are studied. These decompositions are used to generate the identities for powers of Fibonacci and Lucas numbers as well as for powers of the so called conjugate recurrence sequences. Also, some new identities for Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind are presented here.     

Some Notes on the Linear Complexity of Sidel’nikov-Lempel-Cohn-Eastman Sequences

We continue the study of the linear complexity of binary sequences, independently introduced by Sidel’nikov and Lempel, Cohn, and Eastman. These investigations were originated by Helleseth and Yang and extended by Kyureghyan and Pott. We determine the exact linear complexity of several families of these sequences using well-known results on cyclotomic numbers. Moreover, we prove a general lower bound on the linear complexity profile for all of these sequences.     

The homotopy limit problem for two-primary algebraic K-theory

We solve the homotopy limit problem for two-primary algebraic K-theory of fields, that is, the Quillen-Lichtenbaum conjecture at the prime 2.     

A NEW FAMILY OF BINARY SEQUENCES WITH OPTIMAL AUTOCORRELATION VALUES AND NICE PSEUDO-RANDOM PROPERTIES

In this paper we present a series of binary sequences which is a generalization of GMW sequences constructed by Scholtz and Welch. Our sequences have optimal autocorrelation values as m -sequences, and nice pseudo-random property. The number of such sequences is counted and the linear span of such sequences is evaluated.     

n-Colour self-inverse compositions

MacMahon’s definition of self-inverse composition is extended ton-colour self-inverse composition. This introduces four new sequences which satisfy the same recurrence relation with different initial conditions like the famous Fibonacci and Lucas sequences. For these new sequences explicit formulas, recurrence relations, generating functions and a summation formula are obtained. Two new binomial identities with combinatorial meaning are also given.     

Sequence Analysis for Alternating Copolymers by MALDI‐TOF‐MS: Importance of Initiator Selectivity for Comonomer Pair

A special initiator for metal‐catalyzed living radical polymerization facilitates sequence analyses by matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF‐MS) of alternating copolymers from styrene and maleimide derivatives. The initiator is a malonate‐based alkyl halide (DEMM‐Br), in which two ester groups are attached on the carbon neighboring to bromide, and poor electron density of the radical species allows determination of next unit to the initiator in resultant alternating copolymers due to the selective initiation to styrene derivative. Thanks to the well‐defined α‐end group, sequence of the oligomeric products via radical copolymerization of PMS and EMI with DEMM‐Br can be more simply analyzed by MALDI‐TOF‐MS, and indeed the following are clarified: the crossover propagation is almost perfectly controlled regardless of the injection ratio; a minor error event of the disordered alternating sequence containing St–St sequential unit could take place; the minor error can be suppressed with an excess amount of maleimide.

     

伽罗瓦环上的一类No序列的构造

近年来,伽罗瓦环上的序列理论成为人们研究的热点问题.有限域上的No序列是一类伪随机序列,它在序列密码中占具十分重要的角色.本文利用伽罗瓦环上的置换,构造了伽罗瓦环Z_(p~e)上的一类新的No序列,并且研究了其线性复杂度.研究的结果表明此类No序列具有相当大的线性复杂度.
